FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The hit song and music video about Fort Wayne, “My City,” is going national!

A couple hundred peopled gathered at the Martin Luther King Memorial Bridge Sunday night to be a part of the national shoot of "My City."

From 6-11 p.m. Sunday, DeAngelo Samuel, also known as Nyzzy Nyce of Certiflyyed, in partnership with A Better Fort charitable organization, shut down Clinton Street under the MLK Bridge for the video shoot. All the original artists, including the World Champion Voices of Unity Youth Choir, came out to revamp the video.

The video will also include shots of Parkview Field and a helicopter aerial shot of the city. The goal is to raise money as well as showcase Fort Wayne’s talent and the song in other cities across the U.S. Not only will this video help people by promoting the Summit City, it will spread the importance of civic pride across communities nation wide.

"We've all seen how special the first video was for our city, showcasing it under a positive light, and we want that to scale nationally," said Alex Smith, Co-Founder of A Better Fort. "We want the world to know that you can do stuff like this in Fort Wayne."

Smith says the local version of "My City" currently has 190,000 views on YouTube. He says he hopes the music video will get the same kind of recognition nationally, which is why they made some changes to the video and the song.

"I can't release too many details about the video. There are some secrets," Smith said. "I will let you know that the majority of it's going to be shot right here in Fort Wayne and there's a brief difference in the song."

Smith says because of the demand from the community for another video, he decided to use this opportunity as a fundraiser. All donations collected at the video shoot will benefit FWPD’s Victim’s Assistance Sexual Violence Protection Program.

Smith says the new version of the video and song will be released this Winter.
