INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Extra police will be patrolling the roads, as part of the national Click it or Ticket seat belt campaign.
More than 260-law enforcement agencies are taking part in the Hoosier state to crack down on people who are in cars without wearing their seatbelts.
Thousands of overtime hours will be funded in part by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute says more than half of the 754-people killed in Indiana traffic crashes were not wearing seatbelts.
The specific Click it or Ticket campaign will end June fifth.
