FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - An Indiana's NewsCenter investigation has revealed that Navistar is planning to move 11 hundred high paying jobs to Lisle, Illinois.

We discovered Wednesday that the $34-million former Lucent Building in Lisle, Illinois is off the market as of "last week".

That’s the massive $34-million campus Navistar has been eying for their world headquarters.

We’ve also confirmed that the company has plans to bus "select" Fort Wayne based employees to Illinois in the coming weeks for a relocation trip.

We’re told the relocation effort has been in place for "some time" and that Fort Wayne and Chicago area realtors have already been selected.,

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry told Indiana's Newscenter his office has not heard anything official from Navistar, but that the news is disappointing. He said the city will continue to try to work toward keeping Navistar in the city until a decision is announced. That includes going forward with a consulting contract that is costing the city $90,000 The mayor suggested that the city will renegotiate that deal reached in June if the city is informed officially that Navistar is moving to Lisle.

We spoke with Lisle Mayor, Joe Broda and he told us he has been told the company is still "exploring options", but he feels the glass is "half-full".

A spokesperson for Navistar confirmed the Lucent facility is under contract, but said a final decision has not been made on the move. The spokesperson also said Navistar is actively working with Illinois officials and they expect to have a public announcement next month.

Calls to Navistar by Governor Daniel's office have gone unreturned. Indiana's NewsCenter is continuing to investigate the reasons behind this apparent decision.
