FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Navistar managers taken to the Chicago area last month, apparently got a clear picture of the higher cost of living there.
Discarded notes were found and turned over to Indiana’s NewsCenter describing the prices for one-bedroom apartments up to $1,500, and property tax rates much higher than in Fort Wayne.
One manager wrote, the re-location specialist told us this might be a good time to consider changing our lifestyle.
Former President of the Fort Wayne Association of Realtors Bob Coffee says, “That is a bitter pill to swallow, but that is what the employees re-locating out of Fort Wayne are going to have to deal with, they aren't going to have a choice unfortunately."
The notes also describe generous re-location packages for employees, though entries said specifics on compensation will come later.
