INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Indiana State Senate will soon consider a bill that would require all outdoor stages to be inspected to meet guidelines spelled out by the State Fire Prevention and Building Commission.
The legislation comes after the state fair stage collapse in which seven people died.
The bill passed out of the Senate Homeland Security Committee Tuesday morning by a 5-to-2 vote.
State Senator Jim Banks of Columbia City voted against the measure.
