UNDATED (Indiana's NewsCenter) - McDonald's may cut health insurance for nearly 30,000 hourly workers in the U.S.
The fast food giant is seeking a waiver from federal regulators of a stipulation that 80-percent of premiums be spent on medical care.
Otherwise McDonald’s says providing insurance for those workers would be cost prohibitive.
Some see the move as one of the clearest indications that the new rules under the health care reform act could disrupt workers' health plans as the law ripples through the real world.
