UNDATED (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Before the voting on the latest stimulus package to aid small business the Senate voted down two changes to the health care reform law.
A Democratic proposal that would have scaled back the business reporting requirements was rejected by Republicans who saw a new tax tact on to the bill targeting oil companies.
A Republican proposal to completely eliminate the new requirements, and was paid for by taking money out of the health care overhaul's prevention fund, was rejected by Democrats who opposed slashing the health care funds
And the health care reform law was the subject of a federal court hearing in Florida on Tuesday.
At the heart of the hearing was a motion by the federal government to dismiss the suit.
Indiana as well as 19 other states are challenging the portion of the bill which requires every American to purchase health coverage.
Arguments were heard, with the court taking the matter under advisement with a ruling to be announced at a later date.
