FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Matt Lindsay, the embattled former football coach at Bishop Luers High School, will not face any criminal charges.

The coach who won nine state titles at Bishop Luers saw his reputation crumble back in September, when pictures deemed inappropriate were found on his computer at the school.

He was fired and a criminal investigation ensued.

The prosecutor's office says a forensic examination was performed on Lindsay's work computer, and on other items recovered by Allen County Police.

We're told they contained no illegal images.

A search warrant was also served on his home as part of the investigation.

His personal computer could not be located.

The images that were present, we're told there were no nude pictures, and there were no pictures taken from any areas where you would have an expectation of privacy.

" For instance, in your own home, with the doors closed, or in a private locker room, or some place like that, and there was nothing of that sort on the computer," said Allen County Prosecutor Karen Richards.

Richards says the case is now closed.

It's safe to say, part of the reason it took several months to come to a decision on the Lindsay case is that authorities wanted to allow more time to see if that personal computer could be located, and it was not.

We reached out to Lindsay, but at the time of this report, he had not responded to our request for comment.

Monday afternoon, the Diocese of Fort Wayne - South Bend issued the following statement regarding the investigation:
"The Diocese of Ft. Wayne – South Bend, in conjunction with Bishop Luers High School would like to extend our thanks to the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, as well as the Allen County Police Department for their professional and diligent handling of this matter".
