Columbus, Ohio (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The state of Ohio now has new regulations on exotic animals.
Ohio Governor John Kasich signed the new rules into law in response to last year's incident near Zanesville, Ohio when a suicidal owner released dozens of exotic animals.
Most had to be killed by police.
The new law takes effect in three months and bans the purchase of new dangerous exotic animals.
Current owners will be able to keep their critters if they follow strict new guidelines.
