MUNCIE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Two Muncie police officers were injured and a suspect was killed near Ball State's campus Friday afternoon.
Police say they were serving a felony warrant just blocks from the campus when the suspect opened fire.
One officer was reportedly struck in the shoulder and his bulletproof vest stopped a round to his chest. The other officer was shot in the face and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police returned the fire, striking the suspect several times. He was pronounced dead a short time later. His identity has not been released at this time.
