COLUMBUS, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Pellet guns are now banned on public property in the central Indiana city of Columbus.
Columbus' City Council unanimously approved the ordinance Tuesday night after the Columbus Police Department said it received several calls about people with guns, only to find out the weapons was a pellet gun.
The ordinance also bars the discharging of the toys within city limits and bans the alteration of the guns to make them look more like real firearms.
Note: 21Alive incorrectly reported in a previous version of this story that the City Council in Columbia City, Ind., passed the pellet gun ordinance. That error is regrettable, and we apologize for the mistake..
