(Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The Hoosier State is the latest to join a long list of others ending the requirement that phone companies provide everyone land line service.

The measure was passed during the past legislative session and will take effect July first.

The bill which Daniels signed removes a carrier's obligation to provide service where at least two other companies provide voice service, whether it's wired phone, internet services or mobile access.
