Planned Business Expansion Irks Some Neighbors

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (Indiana's NewsCenter)--When you hear a local business wants to expand it’s usually good news these days, but not to some neighbors of a north side fun spot. Crazy Pinz amusement center at Northland Boulevard and Lima Road wants to take the fun outdoors. Owners want to begin hosting outdoor activities like company picnics and graduation parties. The company wants to build an outdoor volleyball court, picnic amenities and a place for inflatable attractions like a moon walk. But neighbors opposing the idea say it will mean noisy crowds on summer evenings.

“I just feel that the noise factor would be awful loud for the neighborhood,” says opponent Tom Delagrange. “Especially for the people that live close to it anyway.”

But Crazy Pinz owner Dave Kerschner disagrees. “I just don't think it's gonna be that loud it would be no different than you being in your backyard and your neighbor's got a pool with a party. You're gonna hear noise but it's gonna be very minute.”

Fort Wayne City Council must decide the matter. They may do so as early as their May 10th meeting.
