VATICAN CITY (www.incnow.tv) - After yesterday's Sunday Blessing, Pope Benedict XVI only has one more public appearance remaining before he takes off the Ring of the Fisherman and retires.
The crowd for Sunday’s event in Saint Peter’s Square was larger than usual. People chanted “long live the Pope” and applauded during the Pontiff’s second to last Sunday Angelus. Pope Benedict thanked the crowd in a number of languages.
The Pontiff also asked the faithful to pray for him and for the next Pope. Benedict is set to officially step down on February 28th.
