INDIANA (www.incnow.tv) – The White House released information on the impact of spending cuts to individual states.
Indiana will see a 13.8 million dollar cut in primary and secondary education, putting around 190 teacher and aide jobs at risk. Funding for job search assistance will be slashed by $683,000. Public health funding will decrease by $619,000 in upgrades for emergency infectious disease response, and about 1.7 million dollars in grants to help prevent substance abuse.
A reduction of 2,170 people receiving work-study aid and $262,000 in justice assistance grants that support law enforcement and crime.
