FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne Police are investigating a robbery which ended with shots fired by an officer.
Police say a man held up the Little Caesar's pizza restaurant at Goshen and Sherman around 6:30 PM Monday night.
As the suspect fled to a nearby getaway car, an off-duty officer arrived at the scene, firing shots at the man.
He apparently hit the car.
Officer Raquel Roster says, “We have a vehicle, a dark colored vehicle that fled eastbound on Russell Avenue. Witnesses are reporting hearing the shots fired. Witnesses are reporting seeing the vehicle flee with its lights off. There is shattered glass that's part of our crime scene so we do have two crime scenes at this time.”
Police are still searching for the suspect.
They describe him as a white man who was wearing dark-colored clothes, a black hat, scarf and sunglasses.
