FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - 18-year-old Paul Prater was sentenced to 30-years in prison with 10-suspended for a brutal beating death this summer.
Prater was 17 when prosecutors say he and 22-year-old Anthony Tate used a hammer to beat 20-year-old William Fett Jr. in the head at his apartment on Ullyot Drive in June.
Fett died several days later.
Prater pleaded guilty last month to voluntary manslaughter.
In exchange, prosecutors dropped a murder charge.
Anthony Tate is charged with murder and is scheduled to stand trial in February.
