FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Clyde Theatre renovations and the Quimby Village revitalization is moving forward.
To date, more than $133,000 has been invested in the project to revitalize Quimby Village and renovate the existing Clyde Theatre. Even Keel Event Productions, LLC acquired the 38,700 sq. ft. theatre facility on May 19, 2012 and states that the revitalization efforts at the Clyde Theatre and conjoining commercial retail spaces are progressing according to plan.
Even Keel organized a volunteer labor organization, called Friends of The Clyde, that includes 113 local neighborhood residents, business owners, musicians and artists who have volunteered for more than 1,770 hours.
To date, $84,590 is the private capitol investment and $56,920 has been invested through federal grants. $3.2 million is the total estimated cost of interior improvements, $150,465 is expected for facade improvements in 2013/2014, then in 2015, $239,450 and $215,000 in 2016.
The following building improvements have been completed in the past 16 months:
- $ 7,600 re-keying and replacement/securing of all 46 exterior doors
- $ 3,700 replacement, securing, and/or sealing of 19 broken windows
- $ 4,200 interior plumbing repairs
- $ 17,000 roof and drainage repairs
- $ 6,789 pigeon/bird feces abatement and debris clean up (interior)
- $ 1,269 pest control (interior and exterior)
- $ 6,738 liability insurance paid to date
- $ 1,879 security and surveillance monitoring system
- $ 25,575 offsite planning
Additional federal grant funding from the EPA’s Brownfields Grant Program:
- $ 4,920 funds towards completed phase 1 environmental assessment
- $ 52,000 funds towards completed environmental abatement
- $ 2,230 private for Phase 1 Environmental Assessment
