JAPAN (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Tokyo's Electric Power Company announced Wednesday that black smoke emanating from reactor number 3 forced them to evacuate the workers there.
High levels of radiation around reactor number two are also preventing workers there from restoring power.
That news came after Japanese health officials announced they'd discovered elevated levels of radioactive iodine in the public water supply in Tokyo, and advised parents not to provide the tap water to their infants or to mix baby formula with it.
While the levels of iodine are a potential risk for young children, they would not be harmful to adults.
