Fort Wayne, Indiana (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – A walk in the name of Trayvon Martin in Fort Wayne Saturday morning brought about 50-people to Memorial Park.

Trayvon Martin is the unarmed black teenager who was shot and killed by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida late last month. Ziimmerman claims Martin attacked him and he shot the 17-year-old in self defense.

The shooting has sparked outrage across the country, including here in Fort Wayne.

The walk took place at 8:00am.

A rally is planned for Saturday afternoon. It is called “Hoodies Up Fort Wayne” and it will begin at 1:00pm in Freimann Square.
