Red Rok Saloon Reopens (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- The Red Rok BBQ & Bourbon Salon has reopened after it was closed earlier this week due to a rodent problem.

The restaurant, 123 Columbia St. West, is in older building management has the rodent problem under control in order to reopen their doors.

"We are doing everything in our power to remedy our situation," Red Rok posted on its Facebook page. "We are proud of the way each and every person has stepped up to the plate."

Restaurant management encourages customers to ask questions, because they are willing to answer them.

The restaurant was closed Thursday following a complaint about mice. Below is the original story:

The Red Rok BBQ & Bourbon Saloon has been closed by the Department of Health after mice and mice droppings were found in the establishment.

Inspectors went to the Red Rok, on Columbia St downtown, Thursday after a complaint was filed that said mice were running all over the canned foods, pasta, floors and counters. Upon inspection, there was a mouse found in a snap trap, a snap trap tripped when boxes were moved in a corner and a second mouse was caught.

The person in charge at Red Rok told inspectors that they changed pest control companies today and that Ecolab placed 90 snap traps, glue boards and bait stations in the facility.

According to Department of Health reports droppings were found around all baseboards, in cleaned pans & linens on shelves and along walk-in coolers. There were holes chewed into packs of pasta and two dead mice were found near soda boxes.

Inspectors also found holes in the basement flooring and gaps under the doorways where snow was coming in.
