FORT WAYNE, Ind./ WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Despite an overwhelming show of support by IPFW's Faculty Senate, Purdue University has named a search committee to replace Chancellor Michael Wartell.
Wartell has held the position since 1994, but will be leaving it in July, when he reaches the mandatory retirement age of 65.
IPFW's Senate had asked Purdue to consider extending Wartell's contract, but the university declined.
The committee will name the new chancellor by the time Wartell leaves.
