WASHINGTON (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Indiana Senator Dan Coats wants some answers from the Veterans Administration about plans for Fort Wayne’s VA Hospital.
In a letter sent to the VA Secretary, Coats asks him to explain his flip-flop about agreeing in 2009 to build a new hospital in Fort Wayne. Then this year, announcing instead, plans to lease a new mental health clinic.
Coats' letter says, "After seven years of languishing in limbo, Hoosier veterans are expecting their leaders to keep the promises made to them... I look forward to working with you to make this a reality."
Coats also questions why he hasn't received a response from the VA Administrator to his letter from April that asked essentially the same thing.
We'll keep you posted.
