Senate Passes Domestic Violence Bill (with Video)

WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.incnow.tv) – In the Senate, the Domestic Violence Bill passed with a wide majority.

It expired in 2011 and the House and Senate passed renewal bills, but were unable to reach a compromise on differences. The act provides money to local and state agencies for legal assistance for victims of domestic violence, as well as transitional housing, law enforcement training, and domestic violence hot-lines.

Republican leaders in the House of Representatives are working on their own version of the act.
