ADRIAN, Michigan (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – John Skelton, the father of three missing boys from Morenci, Michigan, was sentenced Thursday to 10- 15 years in prison.
Skelton’s sons – Tanner, 5, Alexander, 7, and Andrew, 9, disappeared last Thanksgiving weekend, while in their dad’s custody. Skelton has repeatedly said that his sons are still alive. He said he gave the boys to “an organization” to keep them safe, but won’t say where they are.
In July, Skelton, pleaded no contest to unlawful imprisonment. In a plea deal, kidnapping charges, punishable by up to life in prison, were dismissed.
A no contest plea is not a guilty plea, but it is treated as so for sentencing.
