Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - One motorcyclist has died after being involved in Monday morning’s double motorcycle crash.

Police investigators believe that just after 4 a.m. two motorcyclists came in contact with each other at a high rate of speed while heading westbound on Illinois Road near the intersection at Magnavox Way. Rider Scott Ruggles, 31, of Fort Wayne was taken from the scene in critical condition and later died late Monday morning. The second rider Jared Sommer, 30, of Fort Wayne remains hospitalized.

Both riders were not wearing a helmet, and investigators say both riders were drunk at the time of the accident with a blood alcohol content of 0.20.
