FORT WAYNE, In. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Congratulations goes out to the students of Abbett Elementary for winning the local food drive competition kicking off the 20th annual Stamp Out Hunger.

Students encourage residents to put canned goods by their mailboxes for the Stamp Out Hunger Letter Carriers' Food Drive.

Residents are asked to leave a bag of nonperishable food by their mailboxes Saturday May 12th for pickup.

The food will then be donated to the Associated Churches Food Bank.

Last year, the Fort Wayne area donated more food than any other community in Indiana.
