FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - As police continue to search for the gunman who shot David Kuker inside his garage Tuesday morning a local security company is urging people to protect their homes.
People who work at Koehlinger Kruse Security Systems in Fort Wayne say it goes beyond just having an alarm installed, and that people need to make using them a habit.
"They'll spend the money to have a system put in but then their just scared to use it, and they need to. They're afraid to set it off, they're afraid the police are going to come out and fine them for a false alarm," said Shawn Boyle, Koehlinger Kruse Security Systems.
Boyle says most alarms have sensors on all the doors but some places people don't always think about protecting are the hatches to the attic from the garage and screens inside windows. Boyle says sensors can be installed in those places as well.
