Steuben Commissioners Reject Sheriff Proposal: Retain Control Of 911 Dispatch Center

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (21ALIVE) --- The sheriff of Steuben County gets rebuffed in his crusade to take over responsibility for the county's embattled 911 communications center.

The county’s commissioners told a packed meeting room Monday, that they feel more qualified to supervise the emergency call center, despite claims of poor working conditions and dispatcher staff shortages.
