FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - It's estimated that nearly 400,000 people attended the 2011 Three Rivers Festival which wrapped up Saturday night with a fireworks display.
Organizers said the two brand new events, the river games and international village were received very well.
A strong police presence also kept arrests down, Fort Wayne Police reported 6 festival related arrests compared to 4 last year.
Executive Director, Jack Hammer said plans to grow the festival for next year are already underway.
The Indy 500 Festival is currently the only festival larger than Three Rivers in the state.
