FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – While many people will be celebrating the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, others will be staying home with their new favorite toy—a big screen TV.

It's that time of year again—for Super Bowl! Only this time, it’s in Indianapolis. But not everyone is making the trip down to the Circle City next Sunday. Some are looking into other options—LED and plasma screen TVs.

Best Buy is having Super Bowl specials on big screen TVs and other electronics especially for Super Bowl XLVI. Ashley Brumbaugh, a sales associate at the Apple Glen location in Fort Wayne, says business picks up and sales are higher right before Super Bowl because of their deals.

“This year, because it’s in Indianapolis, it’s even busier than years in the past because it’s close to home, even though the Colts aren’t in the Super Bowl,” Brumbaugh said.

Some of the deals: 46 in. Insignia LED for $650, and a 55 in. Insignia LED for $950.

“Those both come with a free Blu-Ray player and a free sound bar. So, you'll have the whole complete experience on game day,” Brumbaugh explained.

Best Buy is also boasting a 60 in. Panasonic plasma screen TV for $999. Brumbaugh says when customers are looking for the perfect TV to watch football, “the bigger, the better.”

Krishana Lear, Fort Wayne, and her husband were out shopping for a new TV. Theirs broke right before the big game.

“We heard that before the Super Bowl was the best time to get a TV. Best deals, better than Black Friday,” Lear said. “We thought, ‘well this must be a sign that the TV broke at this time,’ so we’ll get a good deal.”

The Lears purchased a 46 in. Samsung LED with 3-D and internet capabilities and downloadable apps for $1,299. But, Brumbaugh says the deals won't last forever.

“You have until Wednesday night [Feb. 1] to get your purchases in if you want things delivered before the Super Bowl,” she said.

Although Lear doesn’t consider herself a huge football fan, she plans to watch the Super Bowl on her new screen. Indiana’s NewsCenter asked Lear who she’ll be rooting for next Sunday.

“I'm going to have to go with the Giants...just to go against the Pats,” she laughed.
