Undated (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Chances are looking slim for teens who are looking for a job during their summer vacation.
Fewer than three in 10 American teens will be holding down summer jobs this year.
The employment levels for 16 to 19-year-olds have fallen to the lowest level since World War II.
One of the reasons for the decline in teen jobs is that older workers, immigrants and college grads, who are laden with debt and are working the lower-skill jobs.
It appears this trend will continue as a projection by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that teen employment may never return to pre-recession levels.
