Three Tornadoes Reported Yesterday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front yesterday and produced strong thunderstorms and reports of tornadoes. Pinpoint VIPIR HD Radar as well as public reports indicated that a few tornadoes likely touched down. The National Weather Service is working with emergency officials in Van Wert and Huntington county to determine if further investigation will be required. In Van Wert county Willshire Fire Department reported a rotating wall cloud at 6:44pm.The storm approached the village of Ohio City with Fire department personnel reporting a funnel coming down. A short time later, Ohio City Fire Chief Brandon Bowen observed a tornado touchdown west of Ohio City. The tornado then became rain-wrapped as it was observed by fire personnel east of Ohio City. Several additional reports of the funnel aloft was reported as it moved east and went south of Venedocia.

Another funnel was reported near Mount Etna in Huntington county. Heavy rain also brought flash flooding to the county with Pinpoint VIPIR HD Radar estimates of up to three inches.
