FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – A new charter school heads to Fort Wayne.
During a Monday morning vote the Indiana Charter School Board approved the Fort Wayne Urban League’s request to start the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Academy.
The Fort Wayne Urban League began exploring the idea of a charter school after the closure of Harding High School last year.
The Leadership Academy should open sometime next year and will offer kindergarten through fifth-grade as well as a freshman academy.
