FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - In addition to the new security measures, airport officials also want you to be sure that you're extra prepared when traveling in the coming weeks.

Here in Fort Wayne the Wednesday before and the Sunday after Thanksgiving will be the busiest times at the airport.

Some tips from airport officials include getting to the airport at least an hour and a half early, wearing shoes that can easily come off and keeping medication in your carry on.

VP Air Service Development Dave Young says, “When you have a large group of people that are going and heavy demand at times, just pack a little patience with you. Understand that sometimes things do go a little bit amiss. A little of patience will go an awful long way.”

If you're bringing gifts with you, wait to wrap them because the TSA will have to inspect those like everything else.
