FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- Experiencing the wetlands as the sun goes down.
Some took the Twilight Tour of Fort Wayne's Camp Scott, Tuesday night thanks to City Utilities officials.
The hikers saw fish, owls and bats and examined the unique plants, there. The wetlands are fed by underground storage tanks under McMillen Park that pump storm-water from surrounding neighborhoods.
Susan Beck, the Program Manager says, “It’s a wonderful site, it’s a one of a kind type site, it’s a wetland that was constructed to help with our basement backups and it’s also a nature preserve.”
City Utilities will hold open houses at Camp Scott this summer on May 11th, August 6th, and September 10th.
