FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – One of the men accused in last week's violent beating death of a Fort Wayne man appeared in court for the first time Friday morning.
22-year-old Anthony Tate is charged with the murder of 20-year-old William Fett-Junior who was found by police in his Westside apartment.
An autopsy found Fett was hit in the head more than 20-times.
Police arrested Tate and a 17-year-old in Fett's apartment after neighbors complained of loud noises.
Tate wasn't shy in discussing his innocence with our camera.
Tate says, “I'm innocent, I didn't kill nobody. I didn't kill nobody.”
Tate was released from prison earlier this year after a weapons charge.
Friday morning, he pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
