FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – It's the time of year to celebrate Fort Wayne. Visit Fort Wayne began celebrating it's 65th anniversary.

Tons of kid and family friendly events were held all over the Summit City Saturday.

Starting at the Visitor's Center, party favors and door prizes were available along with photo opportunities with an 8 ft. pinwheel. Organizers say all that is just the beginning.

“We promote all the fun family attractions, festivals, things to see and do in our city and things to experience so it's all throughout the region so people come into our city and experience the quality of life that we enjoy everyday,” said Dan O’Connell, President of Visit Fort Wayne.

O'Connell says they're co-celebrating not just with the people enjoying events around town, but also with the volunteers that help bring everything together.
