Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The World Champion Voices of Unity Youth Choir found out about a big surprise during their rehearsal Sunday.

The world championship choir will be singing with gospel mega-star Kirk Franklin, for the World Choir Games.

They'll sing Franklin's latest song, "I Can," which comes out Wednesday, for the opening ceremonies.

Voices of Unity organizers say they had to keep the secret for over a week.

Marshall White, the choir director, says it's always been his dream for the choir to sing with a nationally recognized recording artist.

White says, “My dream came true when I went to China. This just adds to my dream and this is just one thing after another. I think that having that moment two years ago and saying here's something you've never done, let's begin to open that door for you, and so now when we walk through that door, anything's possible.”

Over 30,000 singers are expected to attend the World Choir Games in Cincinnati July fourth.
