Kosciusko County, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Forensic results have been released regarding Tuesday’s murder/suicide of a Warsaw couple.

Results from the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center autopsy of James and Jane Kinzer conclude that he died from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the neck. Jane Ellen Kinzer, his wife, also died from a single gunshot wound to the head; however results were inconclusive as to the wound being self-inflicted or not.

The incident remains under investigation pending toxicology tests.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.

It happened south of Warsaw at a mobile home park. Investigators say a lengthy suicide note was left at the scene by the married couple.

A concerned neighbor called police Tuesday morning and asked them to check on the couple who lived next door to him. When officers went to the home they found 47-year-old James Willis Kinzer and a 46-year-old Jane Ellen Kinzer dead inside.

"We are a small community, so it's one of those unfortunate things that nobody would like to have to deal with but in unfortunate circumstances sometimes individuals decide to take this nature and route because of problematic things that go on in their life," said Sgt. Chad Hill, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

At this time investigators believe they both died from gunshot wounds. Autopsies for both individuals are scheduled for either Tuesday or Wednesday in Fort Wayne.
