FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Crimestoppers tells us that several anonymous donations totaling $5,000 are now available for information leading to an arrest in the case of a violent home invasion last month.
David Kuker was shot and seriously wounded March 27th in the garage of his own home on White Shell drive in Aboite Township.
He told police the suspect sprayed something in his face and he doesn't have a clue who pulled the trigger.
The Fort Wayne lawyer is out of the hospital now, but it's not helping crack the case.
It's the Crimestoppers Crime of the Week, but the only significant detail listed in the write-up that the suspect was apparently waiting for Kuker to leave his home when the shots were fired.
Police have said, it was not a random shooting.
Local defense lawyer Don Swanson has no connection to the case, but he says this isn't simply about getting justice for the victim.
Swanson says, "The state of Indiana is really the person, or the entity that's violated. And the state has a duty to protect its citizens from irresponsible and dangerous conduct."
A grand jury could be helpful in a case like this if authorities are stymied in getting to the bottom of what happened, a grand jury has power to subpoena witnesses, and can, in some instances, offer immunity to try and flush out information.
