VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A distracted semi-driver plows through stopped traffic on US 41 and kills an 80-year-old woman.

It's a scene much like what we saw in January on US 30, a semi makes no attempt to stop before slamming into cars stopped at a red light.

It happened just after noon on Thursday on US 41 when James Bane, 47, plowed into a pickup truck driven by Charlotte Ellis, 80, that was stopped at a red traffic light.

Police say Bane told them he was reaching for something that slid off the seat.

Two other vehicles were hit in a chain reaction and three cars were damaged by debris. No other injuries were reported.

Police are investigation the crash and will determine if charges will be filed against Bane.
