INDIANA/ TEXAS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Indiana State Senator Tom Wyss talked about his first-hand experience in the illegal immigration fight at the U.S.-Mexican border.
The Republican serves on the state's Homeland Security Committee, and recently joined police in a patrol along the border in Texas.
He said in one area, a small bridge originally designed for irrigation. Is being used to smuggle contraband.
Wyss says, “The Thursday before I was there, they had confiscated 114 pounds of marijuana on the American side that had been delivered over that little bridge.”
Wyss plans to use the information from his trip during next year's state legislature session.
