FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Fort Wayne Community Schools will hold a Zumbathon fundraiser for Study Connection in memory of Aliahna Lemmon.
Eighteen area Zumba instructors will lead participants for two hours of dancing, sweating and lots of fun in support of Fort Wayne Community Schools' Study Connection on Saturday, Jan. 21.
A portion of the money raised will be used to purchase books for Holland Elementary, the school where Aliahna attended.
Registration can be done online at www.signmeup.com/79785. The cost to participate in the fundraiser is $30 with your choice of a razorback tank-top or short sleeve wicking T-shirt and $15 without a shirt.
In addition to purchasing books for Holland, proceeds will benefit Study Connection, Fort Wayne Community Schools' after-school tutoring program that Aliahna took part in.
Zumba is a combination of Latin dancing with a cardiovascular workout. From 1-3 p.m. at North Side High School, the instructors will lead the participants, with each instructor introducing their own flair to the exercise.
