FORT HOOD, Texas (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The U.S. Army private charged in connection with an alleged bomb plot targeting Fort Hood personnel faces a preliminary hearing in court today.
Naser Abdo was arrested last week at a motel just a few miles from the front gates of the fort.
Police say he had material to make explosives...including gunpowder, shrapnel and pressure cookers... along with a handgun.
At his first court appearance last week, Abdo shouted out "Nidal Hasan Fort Hood 2009"...in reference to the suspect in the 2009 massacre at the base that left thirteen people dead and dozens injured.
Abdo admitted to planning an attack, telling the court that he had hoped to kill more soldiers in support of Hasan.
