FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) – Today the Allen County Commissioners approved a re-zoning petition that would turn agriculture land on Auburn Road, just north of the new Union Chapel roundabout, into a new housing subdivision.
The proposal was presented to the Allen County Plan Commission this past November and passed unanimously. The 74.78 acre plot will be developed into 134 single-family residential lots.

Republican County Commissioner Therese Brown feels developments like these are a good sign for the future.

"Several things have happened over the last couple years and it's been rather refreshing to see that developers are able to start getting their feet grounded and getting into developing and really starting to put some new subdivisions and new growth opportunities out there. So we are seeing an awful lot of re-zoning through finally."

The referenced land is south of Crawford Road, just west of I-69.
