FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) -- Today is a sad day around the NBC33 studio as one of our own will be leaving after today.

Megan Trent has been with the WPTA/WISE team since March of 2010 when she began here as multimedia journalist. Megan quickly made her mark in Fort Wayne media and became the Anchor the 10 p.m. newscast, when the FOX affiliation was briefly a part of this station.

For a little over a year now, Megan has been an anchor of NBC33's 4, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts. Megan has also been the face of NBC33's "Excellence In Education" award, where she has made an impact in honoring our area's great educators.

Megan is hardworking, driven, and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She will be truly missed. Tune in at 6 and 11 to help us say goodbye to a great colleague and an even better friend.

On Wednesday, Megan did her last 4 p.m. newscast as the 4 p.m. would be preempted by the U.S. open on Thursday and Friday. Click on the video to see her send-off from the 4.
