FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) - It is nothing new. It's something we have grown to expect. Summer in northeast Indiana means it is road construction season, complete with tie-ups and delays.
Except now those headaches aren't only being felt by drivers, but by the businesses that line those streets. Gas stations, restaurants, and shops are feeling the pinch as road construction either blocks or limits access to their business.
With the city having already committed $71 million in infrastructure improvements throughout 2014, the struggles these businesses face don't appear to be changing any time soon.
NBC33 spoke with an owner of a local gas station on West Jefferson downtown and he says his business is hurting after only a few weeks of work.
