MICHIGAN (www.nbc33.com) - A Michigan man celebrates his 110th birthday with good music, good food and a good attitude.

Ethan Shelton jammed out four years ago on his 106th birthday. This year, he continues to play the music. Of course with over 100 years of practice, Ethan is always ready to put on a show.

"They would have front porch jamborees when neighbors would get together and make music and have dances,” Ethan says. “Music was their past time."

Music, dancing and staying active has kept him kicking, but the secret to living past the century mark, Ethan said, is eating healthy food and keeping a positive attitude.

"The biggest lesson that I've learned that has come directly but it's been a trickle down effect is a positive outlook." Ethan said. "Dad was always focusing on the future and always focusing on positive things. He doesn't like to think about negative things."

Ethan is the proud father of eight children and over 130 descendants.
