(www.nbc33.com) – Police say a man with a Samurai sword, along with several other neighbors, helped chase away an assailant who attacked a woman he had apparently been stalking.

Eric Hendrix’s father, an LDS Bishop and fourth degree black belt, chased away a man who had been attacking a woman with a 29-inch high carbon steel Samurai Sword.

Hendrix got his father when he heard the woman screaming, and his father grabbed the sword from his bed side and took off after the man, shoeless. As the assailant tried to get through a gate, Hendrix’s father drew his sword on the man.

The 37-year-old suspect, Grant Eggertsen, jumped into nearby ivy and started running away and Hendrix’s father chased after him yelling “I got your DNA. I got your license plate. You are so done!”

Eggertsen got away but those who witnessed the chase say the reaction on his face to the Samurai sword was “priceless”.
